Position Summary
The Staff Pharmacist plays a critical role in ensuring clinical accuracy, patient safety, and operational excellence. This position goes beyond traditional dispensing and includes active participation in non-sterile compounding, final product verification, and patient-centered care.
You will work closely with the Pharmacist-in-Charge and team to maintain high standards, optimize workflow, and contribute to the continued growth of the pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify prescriptions with precision, accuracy, and clinical judgment
- Perform and oversee non-sterile compounding in compliance with USP standards
- Conduct final verification of compounded preparations, including formulation accuracy, calculations, and documentation review
- Provide comprehensive patient counseling for both traditional and compounded medications
- Ensure full compliance with state, federal, and Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Maintain accurate and compliant compounding logs and records
- Support efficient workflow while maintaining high-quality clinical standards
- Assist in reimbursement awareness and prescription profitability
- Oversee and maintain inventory levels, including active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs)
- Support training, mentorship, and development of pharmacy technicians and compounding staff
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and continuous process improvement

Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required
- Active California Pharmacist License in good standing
- Minimum 1 year of non-sterile compounding experience strongly preferred
- At least 2 years of pharmacist experience preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and high-level accuracy in compounding calculations
- Exceptional attention to detail and documentation discipline
- Effective communication skills with both patients and healthcare providers
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Perform repetitive compounding tasks with precision
- Occasionally lift up to 15 pounds
- Reasonable accommodations may be made as needed
